Events, destinations, and queer spaces for the bear community.

Bear weeks and circuit events vary enormously in what they actually deliver. Some destinations have built genuine infrastructure around the community—venues that stay open, hotels that don’t treat the event like an inconvenience, a town that actually shows up. Others slap a bear logo on a generic pride week and call it enough. The posts here cover specific events and destinations where I can speak to what the experience actually is, not what the promotional materials say it is. That includes what makes a resort or a city feel genuinely welcoming versus performatively inclusive—and the difference is usually pretty clear once you’re on the ground.
