Seven-year parts commitment. Open STL files for chassis components. Ambassador-network refurb. Repair tiers documented.
Stage 10 deliverable. Life-safety device + camp/school/care-environment customers = service discipline matters even more than typical consumer hardware.
This document covers the entire lifecycle from first-customer-purchase to 7-year-parts-sunset.
---
Per Platform Standard 4 and SOP v2: every WanderAlert part catalogued in BOM-platform.csv + BOM-modules.csv is stocked as a spare for 7 years from the last production unit of that generation, available via Ambassador network at cost + 10%.
| Part class | Stock level target |
|---|---|
| Consumables (O-rings, thermal pads, Gore vents, screws) | 3 × annual ship volume |
| Modules (antennas, displays, batteries, charge ICs, LED strips, siren amps) | 1 × annual ship volume |
| Long-life parts (Federal Signal horns, Cree LEDs, Si4707 NOAA receivers) | 6-12 months forward cover (long lead times) |
| Core silicon (ESP32-S3 module, SX1262, BG95, Si4707, MAX-M10S, SE051) | 6-12 months forward cover |
| Custom (PCBA, injection-molded chassis, PVD ti front face, pole bracket) | 3 months forward cover + tooling retained for 7 years |
The 7-year-parts commitment for WanderAlert is generous because the physical components are long-life. Battery is the most-frequent service item.

---
1. User requests service via companion app or web portal → prints prepaid label + Ambassador-instructions slip 2. Unit arrives at WWP service facility (or routes to Ambassador's home workshop for small-volume Ambassadors with Tier-2 cert) 3. Ambassador intakes unit, scans serial, pulls service history from WanderOS 4. Ambassador matches unit to its original Ambassador — that Ambassador (if still active) receives service-credit; if not, the receiving Ambassador handles + logs continuity 5. Diagnosis documented in WanderOS service history 6. Quote back to customer if out-of-warranty or user-caused damage; customer confirms 7. Service performed at Tier-1 (cosmetic, DIY-equivalent) or Tier-2 (IP rating, mainboard swap, antenna re-potting, audible-alarm cert re-verification) 8. Test suite run — same as production test 9. Ambassador signature retained, service history updated 10. Return shipped to customer; Ambassador-signed service-completion card included
Service revenue feeds the 60/30/10 split:
Per-service Ambassador time typically 0.5-3 hours depending on complexity. Outdoor IP68 re-cert + audible-alarm cert re-verification take longer (1.5-3 hr).

WanderAlert deployments at camps / schools / hospitals benefit from periodic third-party review:
| Cadence | Review type |
|---|---|
| Quarterly | Site admin reviews mesh-health view + alert log via app |
| Semi-annually | Counselor / staff quick-test (Level 1 audible test on each unit) |
| Annually | Audible-alarm cert renewal (Ambassador on-site or send-back; UL 1971 ongoing-cert recommended for camp/school) |
| Every 3 years | Full DVT-equivalent retest (Outdoor unit IP68 + MIL-STD-810G + audible) |
| Every 5 years | Battery replacement cycle (DIY for Cabin/Base; factory for Pager; send-back for Outdoor LiFePO4) |
| Every 7 years | Generation EOL — community-STL release; spare-parts last-window |
Annual cert renewal is recommended for liability + insurance reasons; many camp insurers reduce premiums for documented active-cert sites.

1. Ambassador-home-workshop certification program for WanderAlert Tier-2 — scale beyond centralized WWP facility 2. International service routing — Ambassador network in EU / UK / Canada (different cert / cellular MVNO requirements) 3. Bulk-order service (school district fleet, multi-camp organizations) — dedicated SLA for 50+ unit customers 4. Camp Mystic Memorial Fund emergency-replacement budget sizing — model actual rate annually 5. Parts catalog launch timing — web-ready at Cabin Unit PVT launch (2027-Q2) 6. Camp / school audit + insurance-broker partnership for cert renewal recommendations 7. Multi-generation cross-upgrade pathway (v2 → v1 chassis + part interop) 8. Survivor-pattern Pager handoff process (when an organization with originate_emergency Pagers transitions roles)
Per Platform Standard 2 (Open STLs) and Standard 4 (7-year parts + year-8 community-self-repair), every WanderAlert mechanical part that can be reasonably 3D-printed is published here under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0).
This means:

WanderVerse believes life-safety hardware should not be locked behind proprietary licensing. CC BY-SA 4.0 ensures:
3D-printed parts do NOT carry IP54 / IP67 / IP68 cert. Production parts are IP-rated; user-printed replacements are IP-not-rated. If you print a replacement part for an Outdoor Pole, you must understand:
github.com/wanderverse/wanderalert-open-stls (planned 2027-Q2 launch alongside Cabin Unit ship)---
| File | Material recommended | IP rating (printed) | Approximate cost | Author |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| `cabin-mount-bracket.stl` | ASA / PETG | IP54 (approximate; not certified) | ~$1-2 | WanderVerse v1.0 |
| `base-wall-cleat.stl` | ASA / PETG | IP54 (approximate; not certified) | ~$2-3 | WanderVerse v1.0 |
| `pole-mount-4round.stl` | ASA | n/a (mounting hardware only) | ~$5-10 | WanderVerse v1.0 |

| `cabin-shelf-mount.stl` | PLA / PETG / ASA | IP54 (approximate) | ~$1-2 | WanderVerse v1.0 |
| `pager-belt-clip.stl` | PETG | IP67 (Pager rating; clip itself doesn't reduce rating if printed correctly) | <$1 | WanderVerse v1.0 |
| `pager-charging-dock.stl` | PLA / PETG | n/a (indoor charging) | ~$1-2 | WanderVerse v1.0 |

Per Standard 4 (7-year parts + year-8 community-self-repair), at year 8 (2034 estimated for v1.0 generation) WanderVerse will publish:
Year 8 is when WanderVerse-Ambassador-network parts supply ends. The community continues + thrives on the open files.
---
If you 3D-print a WanderAlert STL part for actual use (not just curiosity):
1. Verify dimensional accuracy against the digital model before installation 2. Test the part under load if applicable (e.g., pole-mount bracket with weight at end of pole) 3. Verify sealing where applicable (pour water on installed cable conduit; check for ingress) 4. Replace if it shows signs of UV degradation (ASA recommended for outdoor for this reason) 5. Document deployments at github.com/wanderverse/wanderalert-open-stls — community library benefits from your data

Camp Mystic happened in part because no off-grid alert path existed — the cabins relied on a single source. Open STLs are part of how we make sure the next camp / school / care environment can deploy redundant alert systems even if WanderVerse stops existing tomorrow. The system endures because the design is open.
