Stage 10 deliverable. Life-safety device + camp/school/care-environment customers = service discipline matters even more than typical consumer hardware.

This document covers the entire lifecycle from first-customer-purchase to 7-year-parts-sunset.

A. 7-year parts commitment

Per Platform Standard 4 and SOP v2: every WanderAlert part catalogued in BOM-platform.csv + BOM-modules.csv is stocked as a spare for 7 years from the last production unit of that generation, available via Ambassador network at cost + 10%.

When WWP runs out of a spare

Lifetime-parts cohort: per purchase, WWP tracks customer serial + promises spares through year 7 from generation EOL
Spare exhaustion: WWP uses Ambassador Community Pool + open STL files + published schematics to enable community-alternative parts
After year 7: community-STL + community-parts channel continues. WanderVerse publishes a "last order window" 6 months before end-of-parts date.

Long-life parts specific notes

Federal Signal SVS-1A horn (Outdoor): rated >100,000 hr typical operating life; effectively never replaced unless physical damage
Cree XQE saffron LEDs: >50,000 hr typical (>5.7 years continuous; far longer at typical alert duty cycles)
DB Unlimited XSL2812 piezo + horn (Cabin/Base): rated >50,000 hr; essentially never replaced
Solar panel Maxeon Gen III (Outdoor): rated 25-year power-degradation curve (>87% output at year 25)
Sapphire solar window: scratch + UV-resistant for >25 years

The 7-year-parts commitment for WanderAlert is generous because the physical components are long-life. Battery is the most-frequent service item.

C. Ambassador service workflow

Incoming unit

1. User requests service via companion app or web portal → prints prepaid label + Ambassador-instructions slip 2. Unit arrives at WWP service facility (or routes to Ambassador's home workshop for small-volume Ambassadors with Tier-2 cert) 3. Ambassador intakes unit, scans serial, pulls service history from WanderOS 4. Ambassador matches unit to its original Ambassador — that Ambassador (if still active) receives service-credit; if not, the receiving Ambassador handles + logs continuity 5. Diagnosis documented in WanderOS service history 6. Quote back to customer if out-of-warranty or user-caused damage; customer confirms 7. Service performed at Tier-1 (cosmetic, DIY-equivalent) or Tier-2 (IP rating, mainboard swap, antenna re-potting, audible-alarm cert re-verification) 8. Test suite run — same as production test 9. Ambassador signature retained, service history updated 10. Return shipped to customer; Ambassador-signed service-completion card included

Ambassador compensation per service job

Service revenue feeds the 60/30/10 split:

60 % → Ambassador doing the service work
10 % → PrideFund
30 % → WWP Community Pool

Per-service Ambassador time typically 0.5-3 hours depending on complexity. Outdoor IP68 re-cert + audible-alarm cert re-verification take longer (1.5-3 hr).

Signature Mark preservation

Ambassador Signature Mark is permanent across service events
If the original Ambassador is no longer active, their signature is retained unchanged (their contribution to that unit is historical record)
Service Ambassador adds their own service-history entry with date + signature beside the original
Provenance accumulates

D. Warranty policy

Standard warranty (bundled with every unit)

2 years from purchase date on manufacturing defects
Battery: 1 year or 500 cycles, whichever first
Audible-alarm performance: 5 years (long-life siren drivers)
Strobe LED: 5 years (Cree XQE saffron rated >50,000 hr)
Outdoor IP68 seal: 2 years (assuming unit is not user-opened)
Drop/shock damage: covered up to MIL-STD-810G spec; beyond-spec damage is user-caused
Lightning strike on Outdoor unit antenna: covered if surge protection engaged correctly (TVS + GDT in design)

Extended warranty (opt-in purchase at order or within 60 days)

5 years full coverage:

Base Station: $45
Counselor Pager: $15

Extends everything above to 5 years + 1500 battery cycles + extended audible/strobe coverage

Warranty exclusions

User-initiated DIY that voids module-specific warranty (stated at DIY step; rest of device remains covered)
Damage caused by incompatible 3rd-party accessories
Neglect (stored with depleted battery >6 months; cell corrosion)
Cosmetic wear (case scratches, strobe lens scuffing)
Incidents beyond MIL-STD-810G / IP68 / ASTM B117 spec
Vandalism / sabotage (Outdoor Pole tamper-switch fires at any opening)
Warranty void if firmware is non-WanderVerse-signed (forced reflash detected)

Lifetime commitment (camp/school/care institutions)

Special designation for institutional customers (camps, schools, hospitals, care environments):

WWP commits to maintaining alert system uptime for the active life of the institution (subject to 7-year parts commitment for the specific generation; cross-generation upgrade path published when superseding gen ships)
"Active life" = institution remains operating + WWP remains a viable nonprofit
Specific institutional contract terms negotiated per-deployment for large customers

E. Service-plan lifecycle (Base + Outdoor cellular only)

Activation

At order, user selects optional cellular plan (eSIM Hologram / Soracom / 1NCE / BYO-SIM / skip)
Ambassador pre-registers eSIM IMSI with chosen MVNO at assembly
User activates via companion app (confirms billing, TOS)
Cellular service becomes live within 4-24 hours

Billing

Monthly via Stripe (or annual with 10 % discount)
User-cancelable anytime (end of current billing cycle)

WanderAlert — Open STL Files (CC BY-SA 4.0)

Per Platform Standard 2 (Open STLs) and Standard 4 (7-year parts + year-8 community-self-repair), every WanderAlert mechanical part that can be reasonably 3D-printed is published here under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0).

This means:

You are free to download, modify, redistribute, and remix these files.
You must credit WanderVerse / Wandering With Pride as the original source.
Derivative works must be published under the same CC BY-SA 4.0 license (share-alike).
Commercial use is permitted; we ask you not undercut the WanderVerse Ambassador Community Pool by mass-producing identical parts for resale without contributing back to the community.

Part: Outdoor Pole mount bracket (3 variants)
Print specs: ASA only (UV + temperature stable); 0.2 mm layer height; 50% infill (high load); 6 perimeters
Material recommended: ASA for outdoor use OR machined 6061-T6 anodized aluminum (factory-supplied default; STL is for custom-printed mounts when 4" round / 6" square / wall doesn't match user's situation)
Hardware required:
4" round: 2 × hose clamps + 4 × M8 SS hardware
6" square: 4 × M8 × 60 mm SS bolts + nuts

Part: IP68 cable conduit + grommet (Outdoor)
Print specs: ASA only (UV stable); 0.2 mm layer height; 100% infill (sealing surface); 8 perimeters; print TPE Shore 70A grommet separately
Material recommended: ASA for body; TPE Shore 70A for grommet
Hardware required: 2-part epoxy (3M Scotch-Weld DP190) for sealing the cable entry through the conduit
Dimensions: ~80 × 30 × 25 mm (conduit body) + matching grommet
Cost to print: ~$2 in ASA + ~$1 in TPE
Description: runs cellular/WiFi/auxiliary cable from Outdoor Pole base to ground / interior. IP68 rated when assembled correctly with epoxy potting at cable entry. Recommended for site installs where shore power is supplied to Outdoor Pole.

Part: Cabin Unit shelf mount (alternative to wall mount)
Print specs: PLA / PETG / ASA at 0.2 mm; 30% infill; 4 perimeters
Hardware required: 4 × wood screws or magnetic mount strips
Dimensions: ~150 × 100 × 30 mm
Description: for cabins where a shelf mount is preferred over wall mount (e.g., cabin with wood shelves at counselor's bunk level). Cabin Unit sits on the print + retained via clip on top.

6. `pager-belt-clip.stl`

Part: Pager belt clip (alternative to factory clip)
Print specs: PLA / PETG at 0.2 mm; 30% infill; 4 perimeters
Material recommended: PETG for flexibility + durability under repeated bending
Hardware required: 2 × M2 brass heat-set inserts + 2 × M2 × 4 mm screws (ships with replacement Pager belt clip from spare-parts catalog)
Dimensions: ~50 × 30 × 8 mm
Description: factory standard belt clip OR alternate STL variants for pocket-clip / lanyard-attach / chest-harness-snap

7. `pager-charging-dock.stl`

Part: Pager charging dock (case for charging hardware)
Print specs: PLA / PETG at 0.2 mm; 25% infill
Hardware required: USB-C connector + magnetic-pad contacts + small charging board (BQ25180 or compatible) — sourced from spare parts catalog

Description: allows DIY-built charging dock for camps/schools that want to print custom dock geometries (e.g., wall-mount dock, multi-Pager rack, lifeguard-stand integrated dock)

STL design + sharing principles

Why CC BY-SA 4.0?

WanderVerse believes life-safety hardware should not be locked behind proprietary licensing. CC BY-SA 4.0 ensures:

Anyone can replicate, modify, or remix WanderAlert chassis/mounts to suit their unique deployment (e.g., a hospital with non-standard wall structure, a camp with unusual cabin geometry, a school with bespoke pole infrastructure)
Community-derived improvements flow back into the WanderVerse ecosystem
Year 8+ (post 7-year-parts EOL), users can continue manufacturing replacement chassis themselves — no dependency on WWP

What we do NOT publish (Lux + cert-critical parts)

Federal Signal SVS-1A horn — proprietary part, sourced from Federal Signal
Internal PCBA designs (separate license; CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 for the firmware source at year 8; schematics published at year 8 separately)
Sapphire solar window — custom Swiss Jewel laminate, not 3D-printable
PVD charcoal-black titanium front face (Outdoor) — custom Ti6Al4V CNC + PVD coating; not reproducible via 3D print
Cabin/Base/Pager production-tooled chassis (cream aluminum, slate aluminum, PA6-GF30 + TPE) — production tooling justifies $30-150k tooling investment that 3D printing can't match for 5,000+ unit volumes; STL versions are for custom or replacement scenarios (small-volume use)

IP rating disclaimer

3D-printed parts do NOT carry IP54 / IP67 / IP68 cert. Production parts are IP-rated; user-printed replacements are IP-not-rated. If you print a replacement part for an Outdoor Pole, you must understand:

Cabin Unit STL: IP54 may be approximated with appropriate filament + sealing; not verified
Outdoor Pole STL parts (cable conduit, pole-mount bracket): IP68 cannot be achieved with FDM 3D print; if you need IP68 for outdoor weather exposure, purchase factory parts via spare-parts catalog
WWP service flow (Ambassador send-back) is required to maintain IP68 on Outdoor Pole — any user-modified Outdoor Pole loses IP68 cert

Year 8+ release commitment

Per Standard 4 (7-year parts + year-8 community-self-repair), at year 8 (2034 estimated for v1.0 generation) WanderVerse will publish:

All chassis STLs (cream aluminum Cabin/Base; slate aluminum Pager; PA6-GF30 + TPE bumpers + PVD ti accent Outdoor) under CC BY-SA 4.0 — even though full IP rating cannot be achieved with FDM
Schematics (electrical + PCB Gerbers) under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 — non-commercial sharing for community repair
Firmware source under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 — community can compile + flash replacement firmware
Assembly instructions + Ambassador training curriculum (the parts not IP-protected) under CC BY-SA 4.0
Cellular eSIM activation flow + WanderOS-Alert API documentation for community-maintained service plans

Year 8 is when WanderVerse-Ambassador-network parts supply ends. The community continues + thrives on the open files.

Print + assembly QA

If you 3D-print a WanderAlert STL part for actual use (not just curiosity):

1. Verify dimensional accuracy against the digital model before installation 2. Test the part under load if applicable (e.g., pole-mount bracket with weight at end of pole) 3. Verify sealing where applicable (pour water on installed cable conduit; check for ingress) 4. Replace if it shows signs of UV degradation (ASA recommended for outdoor for this reason) 5. Document deployments at github.com/wanderverse/wanderalert-open-stls — community library benefits from your data

Camp Mystic happened in part because no off-grid alert path existed — the cabins relied on a single source. Open STLs are part of how we make sure the next camp / school / care environment can deploy redundant alert systems even if WanderVerse stops existing tomorrow. The system endures because the design is open.
