SERVICE-FLOW: Ambassador-side Service Flow

Inbound Diagnostic

Upon receipt of a WanderDoor unit at the service center, an initial diagnos diagnostic assessment must be performed to ascertain if there are any pre-e pre-existing issues. This includes visual inspection and basic functionalit functionality tests.

Visual Inspection

• Step 1: Check for external damage (scuffs, scratches, dents) using st

standard lighting conditions. Document findings.

• Step 2: Ensure proper labeling: SKU sticker should match the model re

received (WV-DOOR-STD or WV-DOOR-PRO).

Basic Functionality Tests

• Step 1: Attempt to unlock with PIN (for both models). Test the duress

duress PIN on PRO tier. Document outcome.

• Step 2: For PRO tier, test optical fingerprint recognition and Apple

Home Key functionality if available. Ensure NFC compatibility works correct correctly for Home Key.

• Step 3: Check tamper log access through diagnostic mode or smartphone

smartphone app (if applicable).

Expected Results

• The deadbolt should unlock smoothly with no resistance.
• Optical fingerprint recognition should authenticate the user without dela

delays in PRO tier.

• Apple Home Key should enable a secure and instant unlocking experience on

on PRO tier models.

Field-Replaceable Units

WanderDoor utilizes specific field-replaceable units (FRUs) designed for ea easy replacement. These components are labeled with unique identifiers for quick identification.

Replacement Procedure

Each FRU is designed for quick replacement, typically requiring a single to tool (a flathead screwdriver) and minimal disassembly.

Battery Module

• Remove four screws securing the battery module to the main unit.
• Disconnect the cable from the motherboard carefully.
• Insert the new BTRY-0423 module in place of the old one.
• Reconnect the power cables.
• Replace the screws and secure the cover.

Battery Service

Battery service involves replacing the battery pack within the deadbolt. Th This process is critical for maintaining operational standards and ensuring ensuring longevity.

Testing

1. Voltage Check: Measure voltage across the battery terminals using a multimeter. Ideal range: 3.0V - 4.2V. 2. Leakage Test: Inspect for any signs of leakage or corrosion around t terminals.

Replacement Process

• Remove existing BTRY-0423 pack from the deadbolt mechanism following FRU

replacement procedure.

• Insert new BTRY-0423 module, ensuring cables are correctly reconnected.
• Reassemble unit and perform a full function test to validate battery serv

service success.

Firmware Roll-Back

In the event of firmware issues impacting WanderDoor functionality, a roll- roll-back process can revert the device to a stable previous version.

Steps

1. Identify Issue: Determine that firmware rollback is necessary based on diagnostic testing. 2. Backup Data: Ensure all user data (settings, logs) are backed up via via the smartphone app or remote server. 3. Prepare Device: Disconnect from network and power down the device. 4. Roll-Back Process:

• Use dedicated software to upload previous firmware version (stored loc

locally).

• Follow on-screen instructions for installation.

Decommission + Secure-Wipe

Decommissioning involves preparing a unit for disposal after its service li life, with a secure wipe process to ensure all sensitive data is removed.

Steps

1. Erase Data:

• Initiate secure erase command through the smartphone app or dedicated

software.

• Confirm completion and zero status via diagnostic mode on device.

2. Disassembly: Remove external components (battery module, cover plate plates) for further treatment. 3. Data Destruction: Physically destroy any remaining memory chips usin using a verified method to prevent data recovery.

Ambassador Signature Provenance

Each WanderDoor unit is uniquely signed by the ambassador who assembled it at our facility. This ensures accountability and traceability throughout pr product lifecycle.

Process

1. Engraving Session:

• Ambassadors sign an internal engraving on the deadbolt cover plate.

2. Verification: Use a digital camera to capture signatures for archiva archival purposes. 3. Storage: Archival images are stored securely within our database alo along with assembly details and serial numbers.
