WanderVerse offers:
---
1. Open WanderReader app → Device → Service → Request Send-back 2. Select service type (battery / panel / frontlight / mainboard / cosmetic / etc.) 3. Review estimated cost breakdown 4. Choose Ambassador (or auto-assign) 5. Pay via integrated checkout (Stripe) 6. Print shipping label (prepaid for in-warranty; charged otherwise) 7. CRITICAL: retain signed Ambassador card — ship device only, keep the card as proof of original Ambassador provenance 8. Drop off at any carrier location 9. Track in app: "Received → Diagnosed → Ambassador-assigned → In work → Quality check → Shipped" 10. Return device (typically 5-7 business days)
1. Receive package; scan tracking to update user's WanderOS service history 2. Open device (T5 Torx); inspect; photograph pre-service condition 3. Perform requested work (battery / panel / frontlight / mainboard / cosmetic) 4. If different Ambassador than original assembly: note in service log, offer user choice (preserve original Ambassador signature OR co-sign OR new signature) 5. Re-test on production test fixture (90-120s automated) 6. Re-calibrate (touch + battery + Hall + frontlight LUT for Pro) 7. Re-seal with new gasket (if case was opened) 8. IPX4 splash-test 9. Pack in replacement pulp tray + ship 10. Scan tracking update 11. Log service event to unit history (permanent record)
---
Each unit has a permanent service history accessible via serial + QR code on case back. The history shows:
Ambassador signature can rotate — if a different Ambassador services your device, they can either: 1. Keep original Ambassador's signature — the laser-etched plate stays 2. Co-sign — Ambassador adds secondary glyph in adjacent space on back-cover interior 3. New signature (user-requested) — replace with current Ambassador's signature
Default behavior preserves original Ambassador's provenance.

Lux Artisan tier allows per-order commission work. User can:
Timeline: 1-3 weeks typical.
---
Per Standard 4 (No Planned Obsolescence), WanderVerse commits to producing + stocking spare parts for 7 years after a tier's EOL announcement.
---
This is the marquee differentiator and we commit to it in writing:
1. The device will work indefinitely on its last installed firmware. No remote disable. No "this device is no longer supported" lockout. No required server check. 2. Cert-pinning failures will not brick the device. If WanderVerse update server's cert can't be verified, the device shows a warning + offers manual recovery; it does NOT brick. 3. WanderVerse / WWP cessation will not brick the device. Firmware-signing keys are escrowed with Software Freedom Conservancy (or equivalent FOSS-friendly nonprofit) such that a successor entity can sign new firmware. If no successor entity emerges, the device continues working on its last firmware indefinitely. 4. Source code for the OTA update server is open under MIT license. Anyone (including users) can run their own update server. 5. Devices can be configured to use any compatible update server via Settings → Advanced → Custom gateway URL.
This warranty term is non-negotiable and is the legal commitment that backs our marketing.
---
Reasoning: Standard chassis can technically host Pro frontlight (chassis is identical), but the lamination + bonding step is a factory operation, not an Ambassador-station service flow. Trade-in protects warranty + keeps the assembly process simple.
