What's in this folder (planned — final files ship with industrial-design team after 2027-Q1)
WanderTherm chassis-adjacent STLs
Note on chassis itself: the cream-anodized aluminum chassis is NOT 3D-printable as a structural replacement (aluminum CNC + Type II anodize is the only way to get the saffron-pinstripe permanent integration + the EM/thermal/durability properties). Users requesting chassis replacement must order from WanderStore or Ambassador depot. STL files cover face plates + brackets + accessories.
Face panels (CC-BY-SA — print your own)
face_panel_cream.stl — main cream face panel (88mm round, 2mm thick) — print in cream PETG or paint after print
face_panel_slate.stl — slate variant (same geometry, color-tinted print)
face_panel_blank.stl — no engraving / no signature — for users who want to engrave their own
face_panel_pediatric_lockout.stl — face panel with central button removed (prevents kid-toggle of mode)
face_panel_haven_admin.stl — face panel with admin-mode-indicator marking
face_panel_braille_setpoint.stl — face panel with raised Braille indicating current setpoint range — accessibility
face_panel_community_artdeco.stl — Ambassador-designed Art Deco variant (community contribution)
face_panel_community_minimalist.stl — Ambassador-designed minimalist variant
face_panel_community_pride_pattern.stl — pride-flag-themed variant (community contribution)
Note on face panels + magnets: STL files are the cosmetic shell only. Users print the shell, then transfer the 4× N42 magnets + T5 Torx insert nuts from their existing face panel (60-second swap). Replacement magnet + insert kit available from WanderStore for $4.
Wall-mount bracket STLs
wall_bracket_universal.stl — universal bracket (4×4 single-gang, 2×4 round, EU 60mm)
wall_bracket_eu_pattress.stl — EU recessed pattress box variant
wall_bracket_surface_mount.stl — surface-mount with cable cover (for installs without recessed box)
wall_bracket_extender_15mm.stl — adds 15mm depth for old-build deep wallboxes
wall_bracket_extender_25mm.stl — adds 25mm depth
Drilling templates (printable cardboard alternatives)
drill_template_4x4_singlegang.stl — flat printable drill guide
drill_template_2x4_round.stl — flat printable drill guide
drill_template_eu_60mm.stl — flat printable drill guide
Coin cell access tool
t5_torx_handle.stl — printable handle for T5 Torx bit (in case user lost the included one)
Tool holders + organizers
repair_kit_caddy.stl — printable caddy holding T5 + T10 bits + spare CR2477 + spare magnets
wall_mount_dock_for_repair_kit.stl — under-cabinet wall mount for the caddy
EU OpenTherm install accessories
boiler_termination_clip.stl — strain-relief clip for OpenTherm bus cables at boiler end
cable_management_strain_relief.stl — generic cable strain-relief
HAVEN deployment accessories
lock_cover_plate.stl — covers face-panel screw access for resident-tamper-resistant install (admin uses different bit pattern)
multi_unit_alignment_jig.stl — for HAVEN bulk install where 5+ thermostats need consistent alignment

Print recommendations
Print settings
- Layer height: 0.15-0.2 mm (face panels need finer for tactile feel; brackets are 0.2mm fine)
- Material:
- Face panels: PETG (preferred) or PLA — cosmetic only; no fire-safety requirement (interior, not in airflow)
- Wall bracket: PETG or ABS — structural; PETG fine for residential
- Drilling templates: PLA fine; printed for one-time use
- Tool holders: PLA fine
- Coin cell access tool: PLA fine
- Infill:
- Face panels: 30-40%
- Wall brackets: 60-80% (structural — must hold thermostat against wall)
- Tool holders / drilling templates: 15-20%
- Supports: tree supports for face-panel magnet pockets; standard supports for bracket undercuts
- Color recommendations:
- Face panels: cream (default — Pantone Warm Gray 1C compatible) or slate (Pantone Cool Gray 11C)
- Wall brackets: standard black or color-match to chassis
- Tool holders: any
Printer requirements
- Build volume: 110 × 110 × 50 mm minimum for face panel; 120 × 120 × 50 mm for wall bracket
- Direct-drive extruder recommended for PETG
- Heated bed for ABS
Annealing (optional for improved strength)
- ABS face panels benefit from mild annealing (90 °C for 2 hr) for dimensional stability if used for wall bracket
---
Fit + tolerance
- All STLs designed for ±0.1 mm fit tolerance
- Face panel magnet pockets: 6 mm × 2 mm × 2 mm depth (for D33 N42 6mm × 2mm magnets)
- T5 Torx insert pockets on face panel: 4 mm × 8 mm depth (for M2 × 8 brass thread inserts; ~$0.10 each)
- Bracket screw holes: M3 clearance (3.2 mm diameter)
- Threads: not modeled — users tap or use brass inserts
---
Compliance + safety
- No fire-safety requirements for face panels (cosmetic only; not in HVAC airflow path; cannot be ignited by normal use)
- Wall bracket should use PETG or ABS (structural; not PLA which can fail at 60°C if installed near a heat source)
- Coin cell access tool can be any material — temporary use
- No food-contact, no UV outdoor use (all parts indoor)
---

Version history
| Version | Date | Notes |
|---|
| v0 (scaffold) | 2026-04-24 | Scaffold + placeholder STL list — actual STL files generated at 2027-Q1 after industrial design team hire |
| v1.0 (post-EVT) | 2027-Q1 target | First complete STL release — all face panels + wall brackets + tools |
| v1.1 | 2028-Q1 target | Community contributions merged + EU pattress depth variants |
---
How to use
1. Find the part you need — search this README by tier + part name 2. Download the STL (once v1.0 ships) 3. Print per recommendations (material, layer height, infill) 4. Transfer hardware (magnets + T5 Torx inserts from existing face panel; or buy replacement kit) 5. Assemble — magnetic snap-fit + T5 Torx capture 6. If a part doesn't fit: file an issue on GitHub — we'll investigate the fit or tolerance issue
---
Image-alignment requirement
Per the canonical hero render (wandertherm-hero-2026-04-24.png):
- Face panel printed STLs are cosmetic; they do NOT replicate the saffron pinstripe (which is anodized into the aluminum chassis bezel — a permanent finish, not a printable feature)
- The "subtle saffron arc" indicating heating mode is driven by Cree saffron LEDs behind the bezel — not visible on face-panel STLs (face panel is the front 88mm disc; bezel is the outer 100mm ring of the aluminum chassis)
- STL face panels sit inside the bezel ring; they are inherently centered + circular
- Color match: community face-panel prints in PETG/PLA approximate but cannot exactly match the cream-anodized aluminum finish — that's by design (DIY = adjacent, not identical)
